Founded in January 2006, BioSense International, Inc. (BSI) manufactures instruments and reagents used for the rapid detection and characterization of pathogens in water. The core technology for bacteria detection and identification was invented at the Arizona State University Water Quality Center (patent pending). We obtained an exclusive, worldwide license from ASU to design, manufacture and sell instruments that utilize this technology. Why we are doing this: There is a need in today's growing water distribution market for rapid detection of pathogens. Current methods take 24-72 hours to incubate and manually count the Colony Forming Units (CFU) in a cultured sample. The implication of slow detection of contamination can be drastic, resulting in serious illness in large populations, and possibly death. Our mission is to make this technology available for the benefit of mankind by detecting water contamination very quickly, so that preventive measures can be taken promptly to protect people. What we need to do next: Submit our technology to EPA in order to obtain approval under Alternate Test Procedure (ATP). This will basically allow water testing laboratories to use our instrument instead of the current methods that are too slow. Present our technology to the Department of Homeland Security and make them aware that such a technology exists. Contact water testing laboratories and research facilities who are willing to work with us for field validation and qualification. We are providing a very aggressive discount before EPA approval is issued, so that the market for this technology can be paved by early adopters. Who we are looking for: Strategic partners in the water industry. We are also looking for established sales representatives and distributors in the water testing market worldwide. ![]()
